Last Years Decoration

Today, just after I bemoaned the greyness of the weather on facebook, the sun appeared! I grabbed my camera and headed up to the woods.
As a child we visited these woods regularly, to collect bluebells and roll down the long hill. To play ball games in the large open space and hide & seek between the trees.
The long hill has sadly long gone - devoured by the upgraded dual carriageway to Bromsgrove. In those days we rarely ventured to the corner of the woods nearest town. I remember one day when we were exploring, coming across the edge of the quarry, and standing looking down through the railings. At some point it became a landfill site, and now houses have been built there. This fence, is probably the same fence that I peered through as a child, has been broken through in places, presumably by daredevil local children, who explore the edges of the quarry.
I was struck by these berries from last years growth and the rusting beauty of the railings.
I am not sure what sort of berries these are, possibly honeysuckle, though they are not in clusters.
Please bemoan the weather more often - the sun was very welcome!! Shame what you say about the woods - so many areas have gone and kids aren't allowed out to explore them anyway. Beautiful shot though - assorts of great contrasts. I don't know what they are but they look poisonous!
