Hanbury Circular by daffodill

Hanbury Circular

This afternoon felt distinctly bleak, and we were doubting our sanity as we ventured out and headed for Hanbury Hall.
We often drive past Hanbury Hall, taking the back road to Droitwich, and I had seen a pond close to the edge of the grounds, by a footpath. Instead of taking one of our usual walks we headed off across the fields towards School Lane. We discovered the pond, which was unspectacular, apart for a very wet but well trained dog. We spotted a footpath along the edge of a garden, labelled 'Hanbury Circular' so we decided to follow it. The sun appeared and all of a sudden it felt 10 degrees warmer! A buzzard hovered overhead, before disappearing in pursuit of some unfortunate prey.
The previous Sunday I had completely failed to negotiate a style. In my defence is was leaning rather! Todays route included 2 adjacent styles. I am pleased to say I managed to negotiate them both, despite wearing a skirt! I think the mud dropped of my tights....(Why do people leave lumps of mud on styles???)
This shot is looking vaguely towards Droitwich. I loved the lines in the green and the contrast with the winter bareness of the trees. Hopefully we will return in a few months when the leaves are in leaf.
Havent a clue if we managed to complete the circular walk as we had no guide - I suspect we only did half, but the hot drinks were appreciated!
Lovely composition, Rose! The green field looks wonderful! I'm so ready for spring.
