Get Out Of MY Patch

Today we travelled to the gentle village of Burford, on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire/Shropshire border.
There is a garden centre, with a nice cafe. The Manor House has been converted into a posh shop, where you can buy a chaise longue, or two...and they have some very nice cards! (I found one that was perfect for a pirate!)

We last visited at the end of March, but to our surprise, there were large signs advertising that the place is going to close and reopen under new management - 25% off everything! Great, I thought! Maybe I could fit a 'reduced' Chaise Longue into my house....

At the moment the delightful gardens are free to wander round. They were significantly damaged by flooding a couple of years ago, but they are recovering well, and I fear that charges may be reintroduced when they reopen again next month :(

The River Teme runs along one side of the garden, and there is a delightful bridge to cross over one of it's minor tributaries. Near the river we came across two cock pheasants engaging in a turf war!
They were so engrossed in their power battle that they didn't notice me quietly following them. Inconsiderately they kept moving behind branches and pieces of vegetation, as the more dominant male chased off his rival.

Clever capture :)
