Claines by daffodill

Claines

Monday’s are often exploring days,
the weather forecast was brighter earlier, with some sun forecast.
Looking up at the leaden skies, my companion observed that we would be lucky to see the sun today, but we did, just as we negotiated the corner between the M42 and M5, we saw the sun making a feeble attempt to shine.

"Let’s go to the church on the hill” and so we set off.
It later transpired that we were talking about different churches in different counties...

On the way we diverted to Claines, so see the Jesse Tree on the floor. I failed to get a decent picture of the Jesse Tree, as it is tiled and an several levels, but I was happy with this shot. I like the fact that the font is so central, which feels fitting as the church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist’.
When I have visited Claines in the past it has been to ring, so the bell rope top right is a reminder of those days.
Lovely long line of the church - love the archways.
