Look Behind You! by daffodill

Look Behind You!

We get few birds in our garden, having enthusiastic bird feeders next door and next door but one, they probably prefer what they offer!
We decided to indulge in some ornithological 'keeping up with the Jonses' and invested in some new feeders and stock. We enjoyed watching the antics of the crows and pigeons so bought some more.
I wandered up the garden, with my camera of course, aiming to take an arty shot through the new bird drinking fountain, but nothering much was working. I carried on up the garden, attempting to get an interesting shot of raindrops on primulas type shot, but nothing was doing. I then noticed some movement in the flower bed below the birdfeeder. I had put a new block of food out, but there was a certain amount left in the pack, so I left the dish section for something to clean up. The blackbird spent some time cleaning this up for me, before flying to theshrub next to where I was standing. Inside the shrub I could hear chirping - surely it is too early and cold for eggs?
I got another shot - http://365project.org/daffodill/extra-extra/2013-02-25 before the blackbird disappeared into the shrubs. Later it exited at high speed, no doubt trying to distract me away from the nest.

I like the pose on this one, but the twig partly obscures the shot... :(

Todays theme is Beatles - only one song for me then...Blackbird http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAgceen153I
Both gorgeous shots - really a nest?! They have done well.
