Windy Hills! by daffodill

Windy Hills!

Onwards
Conquering hills
despite the cruel wind
that whipped my hair across my face!
Such a disgrace!
Past bracken flattened by the snowfall
Not ready yet to uncurl fresh fronds of hope
for spring is late
and everything will wait
until the weather is kinder and more convincing.
Higher I will climb
finding where remnants of winters last snowfall
linger frozen in time,
though surreptitiously melting
encouraged by the sun and human intervention.
I am an explorer,
searching for stone age art
within a victorian folly.
Hoping fountains of clear water
will randomly appear.
Needing to stop to blow my nose,
but hoping no-one will snitch.
I am an explorer
every expedition
is a journey physically
and inside my imagination.
But you will never know
where I did go,
for my world is a place you cannot
ever fully comprehend.
