Convenience Shot

Today we hit the non-tourist trail and headed south to Millom, as we had seen the lagoon left over from the iron ore mining, on the map and fancied walking along the sea wall.
Ariving in Millom we decided that a visit to the public conveniences were a good plan before setting out on our walk. The ones signed posted were in the process of being demolished, which left the ones on the edge of the park. Walls of stainless steel and almost total darkness once the door was closed! There was also no toilet paper.
We did a circular walk of about 2 miles round the lagoon, enjoying the sea and lagoon views.
On the advice of a local we headed into nearby Haverigg and enjoyed a late lunch at The Beach Cafe, lovely food, fresh to order and worth the wait. Before lunch, however, we had to visit the toilets - which bore a striking resemblence to the ones in Millom, except they weren't so dark but also had no toilet paper.
We headed back up the coast stopping off at Silecroft. Here the toilets were substantially better! Light, bright, and inside pink & purple highlights to the decor.
