Caladium fields by danette

Caladium fields

Did you know that 98% of the caladium bulbs grown world-wide are grown in Lake Placid, Florida?

Using a photo from yesterday. Ran out today with camera between appointments and had no card in the camera. Besides, this is more interesting!
Beautiful capture! I miss seeing all the florists fields of Central Florida... leather leaf ferns, gyp and more!

Beautiful shot! I like the layers. I did not know this piece of information. I decided to grow a caladium inside this year instead of outside because I like this plant so much.

@marlboromaam Glad you enjoyed it. I have not seen the other fields. We drove out of our way to see this.

@daisy thanks, Kathryn! It's always good to share info.

I did not know that! Great capture! I can't tell you how many times I've gone off with no card in the camera. Too many to count. :)

I like the layers/lines of colour. Didn't even know they had florist fields!

I could say I knew that... but I'd be lying. :)

Haha, been there done that on the card in the camera thing!

@clmiller @lynnb @ariel817 I thought the lines were interesting. I couldn't get any closer. As far as the card goes...man, was I upset. I had actually driven 30 minutes to a listing to take photos of it! I purposely leave the little door open as a reminder but another client called to meet them, so I guess I was in a hurry. Now I have to go back today. All is good. I am looking forward to the full moon on the beach tonight! Hoping the weather holds out.

I didn't know that. That's probably why is caladium so popular and fresh looking everywhere around in FL.
