Dec. 1--The Journey Begins

Yesterday, we moved our son and his girlfriend to Orlando as he begins his new position. He was fortunate to find a place with one of his fraternity brothers in an old neighborhood near downtown Orlando. The streets are made of brick! There was a beautiful weeping bottlebrush tree in the front yard. Since the word of the day was "green" and it was a lovely green tree (bonus is red, for Christmas!), I took a few minutes time out. Busy day, busy weekend.
Very nice focus. I planted buttlebrush in our yard but it's not doing anything.

@bardejov Thanks! This was the prettiest bottlebrush I have ever seen. They are fussy plants and subject to bacterial gall. 'When they are "happy", they sure are pretty!

@lynnb Thanks, Lynn. The flowers look just like a "bottlebrush". They are pretty trees.

@gphelps5 Thanks so much, Bulldog!!

What a pretty red, spiky flower! Great focus! Best of luck to your son on his new job. And to you, with them further away.

A lovely Christmassy shot. Thought for a minute this was Australia!

@tulipgirl Do they grow in Australia? I know several of our plants are natives from there. They don't always do the best here, because we don't have the same predators.
