Had to run over to Tampa to be with my son who is in the hospital. When he texted me Monday morning about which doctor to see, I didn't see this coming! If your foot is swollen, don't ignore it. Hoping for progress today. Prayers appreciated! This is the view from his apartment. I am sorry if I don't comment as much as I'd like this week. Your comments are always appreciated.
What a beautiful view and a lovely photo. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your son at this time and sure hoping it's not serious. Yes, we found out the same way never to ignore a swollen foot when my hubby had this happen a few yrs ago. Fortunately what was originally thought to be MRSA after going round and round with several doctors, it was not! Good that you caught it and hope to hear good news about the diagnosis.
I felt there was trouble when I read your headline... I hope your son will be home soon with this lovely view to look at while he recuperates. I had no idea that a swollen foot might be some warning sign, but I pray for him that it's not serious and you can report good news soon. You're in my thoughts...♥

Thank you all for your prayers and kind comments. Now that it seems to be under control, he developed a bad case of cellulitis. Being young, he was not aware of the symptoms. They increased quite a lot in just a few days. Had he not been treated, it turns into sepsis, which is essentially what killed my father last year. The nerve in his foot is compressed, and it is quite swollen. He needs a brace to walk. As soon as the infection is cleared, they can work on the swelling. I am hoping he will leave here in a day or two, but the entire recovery could be months. Crazy.
@danette Really glad he caught it in time! My daughter had a mild version of cellulitis, but she was dismissive of it initially--I took her to the Dr. and he gave that name to it. Later, she had a "boil" on her stomach, so I keep a close watch on her--she's just a teen! So sorry this is happening. Will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts. xoxo
@danette wow, Danette! I had simply no idea! You're finding that a mother never stops helping to raise a "child"...even an adult one. As you know, having lost your own father so recently, we're so grateful they can still be there to help and missed sorely when they're gone. I'm glad your boy is getting good care!
@darylo We've encountered cellulitis twice in my boys' childhood, but both times the infection was very small. Sometimes they are subtle clues that send us to a doctor. I think cellulitis is not that easy to recognize, especially as a young man. Infections just scare me!
