This is the view of Miami from the Cape Florida Lighthouse. The beach here is often on the top 10 list. All the vegetation you see here has grown since Hurricane Andrew wiped out the park in 1992.
I remember Andrew! A number of the men from our garage were sent down to help restore phone service. I wasn't one of them but I heard some memorable stories of how they were touched by what they saw!
@skipt07 It was heartwarming to see massive caravans of companies coming to help. I went to the area most devastated to help out a family. It was heartbreaking! Like an absolute war zone. Including the Army helicopters flying overhead offering food and water.
