Worked in the yard this morning. In the past, I have enjoyed sprucing things up. But, the last year has been challenging and things were neglected. The way things grow here in Florida, I had to hire someone just to keep from having a jungle. Still, pulling weeds, tending to the plants can be healing and remove stress. I even went in the pool after--something I haven't been able to do in a long time. It made me realize how tough the last year has been. I still haven't been able to go through my mom's possessions. Even going into her room makes me sick to my stomach. Hoping getting back into old routines will help.
Your flowers are beautiful. Your title says it all really. Any physical labor is so good for us, I hope you can work in your lovely garden and let it heal you.
Such lovely flowers. Hoping you feel better as you work around your yard. It is amazing what that hard, tiring work can do for us. Things will get better - it is true, "Time heals."
Just beautiful. I have only just returned to 365 after a month off - so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother Danette. So nice that you are finding some peace in your garden.
Don't push it. There is no hurry. Take some time to grieve. It was over a year before our daughter could bring herself to deal with her husband's belongings.
Sorry to hear about your loss. I still get sad over my dad and that was five years ago. But I can agree with you about the healing powers of gardening and photography. I hope you'll enjoy a lot more swims this summer.
