Tragic Yoga by ddshin

Tragic Yoga

As I got out of my lab, I saw these guys doing yoga at Red Square at my university, pretty much the common area where the majority of the students pass by daily. Although you see a lot of weird stuff here, this was the first time I saw people doing yoga, so I naturally took a few snapshots.

Later, I found out that a student at my university fell from a dorm room balcony and died today. I then found out a UW alumni died last Wed in Afghan, another former UW football player died Monday, and a lovely Yale student died last Sat. I don’t understand why these things happen. I don’t know, I just don’t know. .. They are so young, so much to live for... Why? I can’t grasp it, and I just can’t accept it. I pray for their souls and their family and friends. So close to Memorial Day, this really makes me reflect and have a new perspective, and what I'm going through now is nothing. Nothing.

Day 10
RIP to each passing soul. Great capture of the yoga session. Such a lovely building in the backdrop

@normagenes David I am tagging my daughter in this photo because she is your age and just started her own 365. I appreciate your photo and words. Perceptive reflection.

Terrific capture, we all ask that same thing when things like this happen within our lives & around us, I can understand your thoughts

@sugarmuser Thanks! That's the administrative building I believe. Have never really looked at it or went in it to be honest..
@cheribug Thank you, yes it is crazy, so many things happening.
@worthitall Thank you! I'm excited to follow her through her project as well!
@wenbow Thank you for the kind words. Well said, so many tragedies in this world, but it does hit home when it's near.

Oh David, I am truly sorry to hear that. That must be very sad for you. I've
been through similar experiences, it makes your heart sink, but like you said it does put our own problems in perspective. You and those lost will be in my thoughts and prayers. You know I love your photos. You have a natural "touch". In that one I feel peace. Take care.

Certainly does put things into perspective. I am looking forward to following your project!

That is hard to deal with. We all need to really realize that each day could be our last and make it a great one. The mass yoga photo is quite interesting!

The yoga picture shows people wanting to relax and release stress; perhaps they are also dealing with unfortunate thoughts.

Hoping you have better news with your next trip to the square.

Keep posting - I'm new at this too and just starting to feel my way around the site.
