My husband and I had heard there may be whales making their way up the coast anytime soon, so decided to take a drive to Queenscliff and have a look, my husband also did a spot of fishing.
I took this from where the pilot boat comes in, this area has notorious rips which many years ago caused lots of ships to sink. Now days they have people that board the ships and pilot them through the rip safely.
This ferry is the MV Queenscliff which takes people from Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula across to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula and back regularly every day.
I liked the defined layers of clouds and water.
Still trying to process the horrors in Nice and now trouble in Turkey!
Wonderful clouds - guess I'm trying to use the peace and beauty of 365 as a way of avoiding thinking of the horrors that are going on in the world right now. How do the rest of us turn this around?
Amazing sky! Wonderful capture. As For our world now. ....shocking. Having been camped for 2 weeks with now TV or radio on, the news was very shocking.
Absolutely fabulous, such a dramatic sky. Have you ever been on the ferry. We went on it last year. Much more relaxing than driving from Geelong to Montrose to see all the grandchildren.
Did you see any whales?
@onewing my husband has been on it, I must do it when the weather warms up, no we didn't see any whales Babs, but I always enjoy taking a drive down that way anyway!
@golftragic No didn't see any Marnie, but we love going down to Queenscliffe, Noel through a line in, so he was happy. Plus we had a nice feed of fish and chips.
@dianeburns Shame about the whales, I don't really want to have to go to W/bool to see them. Great about the fish and chips though, always a good feed.
