So todays 30 days wild shot is not pretty, picturesque or charming. But the more I thought about it, it is true to the intent of the challenge. I spent over an hour today poking around a Rachel Carson animal refuge this afternoon. I took some birds shots and flower shots but as I was experiencing nature I came upon this. It was a dead fox. He was curled up like he went to sleep and just didn't wake up. He was pretty decayed. the interesting thing is, if you look at the right side of the pic, you will see his teeth. Just above his teeth are porcupine quills. I just bet this young fox tangled with a porcupine and probably died from infection or the basic lack of being able to eat due to the quills. Nature at its wildest! Like I said not the prettiest pic but real life, for sure! Can you see his ear, eye, teeth and the quills?
You did find a really great "nature" shot for the 30dayswild theme - this really is nature in reality. Like it b&w.

What a bummer but such is life. Nature is harsh sometimes. I didn't see it until you called it out. It's a pretty amazing find and you did a nice job with it.

Sorry but I first thought it looked like something pulled out of a drain. Are we still friends?

@joansmor I know, I'm questioning whether I can leave it here...it's gonna mess up my pretty "wild" month!
