Like many of us, I have been dreaming of a new camera body. I have a Nikon d5000 that I have had for 10 years. It was my first dslr. It served me well. I taught myself how to be a photographer on this camera. It was perfect. But in the last few years I have pushed it to the maximum and often I could see the shortcomings in my photos. Yesterday, out of the blue my husband drove into the mall parking lot and said "Let's go pick out your birthday present." I thought he was taking me to the jewelry store....then we walked into Hunts. He told me he had cash and wanted me to pick out a new camera body. WHAT???? I argued at first but he wasn't taking no for an answer. I had thought I wanted the d850 but in the end, I walked out with a d810 and a new zoom lens for the price of the d850. Wow! I was blown away. He's a keeper...great present! I used it today to take some shots....I am in complete awe at the difference between the 810 and my old 5000. Happy birthday to me! (on wednesday) Who said turning 50 was all bad??? :)
Wonderful portrait of little one but pales to your fab story! Happy birthday 🎂 in advance! Have lots of fun with your new baby and your awesome hubs! (Better than a jewelry store any day! (Sniff) ahhhh... that new camera smell 😉)
What a marvelous way to start birthday week - you have a very smart - and loving - husband. What fun you're going to have. And such a cute shot with your new present.
@helenhall@elatedpixie@milaniet@stownsend thanks everyone! I have to say this birthday is a bit rough but I know lots of people who aren’t healthy and able to enjoy it like me so I’m embracing it. My hailey is not a grandchild ( none of those yet! My oldest daughter is set to be married in sept) but she is mt great niece I’ve been spending Thursday afternoons with her since she was 6 weeks old. Oh how time flies!
