It was a gorgeous September day, The sun was shining brightly, but yet not as intensely as a few weeks ago. Fall is in the air. I sat in the shade and thought about yet, another season in life about to pass us by. Just a few short weeks ago these playgrounds were filled with little ones running and jumping, climbing the monkey bars, climbing through those brightly colored tubes, and then escaping down the slides. The swings were always in motion as they desperately tried to "out swing" each other. Their laughter would ring out as the little ones giggled back and forth. Now, I sit and gaze out into the strange emptiness, I can still hear the laughter. In my mind's eye I watch, two little ones are playing, swinging freely, and their laughter rings out. I can still hear it in the air.
WOW thats almost ghostly Rick, the way you described it with the photo and those swings swinging on their own :) The colour and light is nice in this and I just love your editing and framing. Youre about one of the only 365ers today that said they got sunshine. :)
A playground without children is just sad. You've captured that tone here. They will be back tho, so that is something to look forward too. :) Love the framing as it seems as if it is going to just fade out altogether at any moment.
Great shot. Your picture really drives home that we need to enjoy life and appreciate our mind's eye. We are really blessed to have the capacity to remember and playback events and feelings. Well done! Fav
Perhaps its the ghost of our inner child that keeps the swings swinging even when empty ?
As always your photo is beautiful beyond ordinary adjectives -- only your commentary comes close to being as beautiful.
Excellent! I've tried several times to get a good shot of a swingset because I just love them. Mine never seen to come out the way I intend them to though. This one is amazing! Love the processing you've done as well.
This is just lovely, Rick. Very creative and a bit mystical. I can almost see the children swinging, having fun, and hear their laughter. Awesome creation with this one.
You really write eloquantly, Rick...having had the same experience this summer with a park across the street, I feel the same emotions you write about. I know, too, you write about this on a personal level, having had time there with your own grand daughters...thanks for your note...it'll be fun to join the Grandmama team...I've been watching with envy!
This is a beautiful shot Rick I love the swings moving in opposite directions, very clever to think of that! I enjoyed your musings about the playground..

thanks for the kind comments on my picture for yesterday :)
All too soon the seasons change.
