We are all eager for Spring, and personally, I am looking forward to the colorful revival that has already begun around us. The grass is getting greener by the day, Spring flowers are beginning to push their way up through the ground, buds are appearing on the branches, and the Robins have returned. Spring is in the air. I went out for a walk this evening, and as I strolled along the edge of the lake, the banks were lined with all these dried brown thistles. In the Fall they are a beautiful purple, but now they are dry and brown, yet, as you look at all the detail, they still possess such deep beauty, even without their color. Everything has its own beauty, and that includes us. We are all so different, and we all have our own little quirks that define our individuality. That's what makes us unique to everyone else. I didn't say better, I said unique.
@sarasdadandmom Thank you so much, but you know, editing software makes it so much easier to look good. Still, thank you, and I appreciate the compliment.
Beautiful image Rick and as always your words have such a positive message. I have to admit I'm seeing weeds, seeds and other miscellaneous overlooked stuff with a whole new appreciation since starting this project. Everything has a certain beauty if you just take the time to notice it! :)
Great detail indeed, very nice close up. I do like them in the fall they look much softer. This picture gives a more appreciation when they have lost their luster.
Great macro! I saw a lot of withered berries and dried flowers/weeds tonight and it was a toss up between the reflections and withered rose hips. The reflection won but the beauty in the dried berries etc always draws me to them.
Beautiful Rick, and I too love thistles. I'd bring them into the house and put 'em in a vase, but my family does not appreciate such individuality. I like the dew on this thistle, adds a little sparkle.
Awesome detail and tones. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. My family really liked the song you posted and wanted me to extend a thank you to you as well. They really appreciated it.
I don't usually like sepia but it works with this photo. Tends to bring more detail out. Good job, I know what you mean about color. We desperately need some in Berks County.
