Here I am in Pittsburgh, took some photos but my new lap top did not recognize my older Canon Drivers, so I could not upload any of my photos. I called my Wife, and walked her through the process of uploading a photo for me that I took the other day. You must understand, my Wife is not good at computers, but I was able to talk her through the process of finding the photo I wanted and she was able to upload it for me. Now here I am editing it, and filling in all the info. The wonders of modern technology.
This was my Grandfather's fishing rod and reel. I still use it with pride, and I cherish the memories that are connected to it.
The day was long here, after a 5 hour drive, we arrived at our destination. met with staff and we did our observing. Now we must finish out in the morning with some more observing, and then head back home. Later we will get together and come up withg a game plan and put together the in-service. Well, going to sit back, relax a little, watch television, read, and then go to bed. Hope you had a great night.
@cfitzgerald Courtney, sorry I did not have my comments posted when you saw my photo. I had to modify how I posted the pic tonight, as I expalined inthe write up. Thanks for looking.
@bill_d Hi Bill, no, not going fishing, just didn't have my comments done yet when you stopped by. I couldn't upload to my lap top so I had to go the long way around. Thanks for stopping by.
What a nice feeling to be able to hold your grandfather's rod & reel. what a connection. Great photo and awesome collaboration with your wife's help. Enjoy your evening.
Wow to have something from your granddad and still in good working order..you looked after it well. thanks to the help of your wife we got to see a vintage fishing rod and reel. must show this to my husband.
i LOVE the old rod....so special for you to have!! a very neat photo!!! And WAY TO GO to your wife for being able to upload and do what you asked of her!!!! that is great!
It so wonderful that you have something from your grandfather that you can hold in your hands. Great composition. Congratulations to your wife on being able to help you.
Rick, I love that you still use your grandfather's rod and reel with pride. I wish I had my grandfathers...so many memories of that. Your wife is a dear heart for helping you like that, especially since she was out of her element. Hope you had a relaxing evening and your trip back home is safe and uneventful.
great pic! and way to go you and wifey getting the picture uploaded!!
i don't think i could ever accomplish that with my computer illiterate hubby. lol (bless his heart)
i DID think it was strange when i saw this pic earlier. what? rick didn't post a message with his picture??? no way! hahah.
i hope you have a safe trip home tomorrow :)
Oh what a wonderful shot. I'm sure you treasure that pole.
I'm such a computer idiot. My husband talks me through many things or I wouldn't get anything done. I am learning.
This is great! I never got to know my grandfathers. One died in 1942 - 9 days before coming home from war. The other died shortly before my birth, so I don't have anything of theirs. You're very lucky. I love old reels. We recently picked 5 up at a 2nd hand store from the 60's and 70's for $5 each!
Wonderful piece of gear! My hubby has quite a few pieces of antique fishing gear. He never uses it though. He lost one lure that was his dad's and he was quite upset.

Wonders of modern technology. How lovely to be still using things your grandfather did.
