How wrong would it be not to include a photo of a vintage camera and photos when this project is all about photography? That's what I thought. This was my Grandfather's camera. It is a vintage Polaroid Land Camera, Model 80, complete with a Wink-Light Flash attachment. If you are able to make out the photos spread about, my Grandfather is in the front photo, just to the left carrying his lunch pail, ready for work. Just to the right is a photo of my Grandfather and Grandmother. The photo directly under the flash, is my Grandfather, in uniform during WWI. He was the one seated. Then the photo to the right, leaning on the camera is a photo of my Father. He recently went through a box of photos and gave them to me so I can scan and edit them. I want to include them in a family album I am working on.
Oh, this is FANTASTIC! How cool and appropriate! It reminds me of my dream last night where someone gave me a vintage camera, just like this. I admit, I was disappointed when I woke up and it was just a dream. Needless to say, I am so jealous of this photo and camera. I must fav!
OMG, Rick. This is just amazing. I love the camera, the photos, the shot. It's awesome. What a treasure...the camera and the photos. This is a wonderful photo.
Rick, you were made to do vintage photos! You've really found your niche. I love this old camera surrounded by old photos of your family. You are so fortunate to have such wonderful images.
Great composition, Rick! And guess who's had the same idea in her head for a week now LOL? I have my Nana's and my Grandfather's cameras which I think are these same kind. One is black and one is brown. I'll have to come up with something else.... In the meantime, I will enjoy your composition. I adore the old photos you've got there!! :)
What could be more perfect for this week. Looking at these vintage photos reminds us of the value of keeping these memories captured on paper or digitally. They take you to another world, either back in your own memory or connecting to those who went before you. All in all, a great composition.
Wow!...this is priceless, Rick...the camera & most of all, those memories in photos...must be glad to have all this in your possession...hope that it will be treasured & appreciated from generation to generation.
(p/s : And the flash light from the old days...that's a keeper!...looks like some car light in those vintage car. On second look, the camera with the light do look like a vintage car...haha!...thanks for sharing, Rick)
Bravo! That's just wonderful! I did something similar over a year ago http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-04-02 and it remains a meaningful photo to me. You'll be so happy to have this picture of yours, and how wonderful to have a box of photos to scan! Your family will be immensely grateful!
great composition, Rick, and interesting to read about the photos you selected to go into it. "Wink-Light Flash" maybe it's just me, but some of the old products just had much better names than the stuff we get today. :)
Love what you did Rick and thank for the inspiration for my picture.
It's so wonderful to know that there are so many photos just sitting in boxes, tins etc waiting for us to find them and get excited about our ancestors all over again.
