Well, I took a big step, and dug out several more of my journals and began looking through some of what I had written through the years. There's a lot of work ahead of me, but there's no better time to start than now. I have created a little getaway in the basement where I will be able to concentrate. I figure it will take me awhile to sort through all the pages, it is something I need to do. It is amazing how the memories come alive as you read the pages. So many things I haven't thought about in years, and in an instant the past comes to life, just like it was yesterday.
I am looking forward to organizing some of the material, at least to the point where I can begin to create some type of story line. That's when the color will begin to appear. After reading for about an hour, I had to get up and move about. Siting still is going to be the toughest thing for me to do, but a little at a time, and hopefully soon it will become a routine. I found this flower sitting so pretty in the one pot on the back porch, and decided to shoot it in B/W to go along with my new project.
It's going to be a busy weekend with the Grandkids coming over, but I plan to ask Kassidy to help Grandpa sort through some photos. I really want to finish my family photo album, and I know Kassidy will love to look through the photos with me. It should be fun, and hopefully productive at the same time.
Wonderful in b&w. I never think of to convert it. Rick I'm so glad you will be taking up your writing. I think you have quite a talent and should use it.
Love the black and white theme to go with your writing! And I'm so happy to hear that you are digging right in. You're making me want to go back and read my old journals.
This is so gorgeous and a brilliant visual for your project. I hope you have a wonderful time with your grandkids and the photo albums. I'm so glad that you are still posting, as you can. I look forward to your photos and the words you say too. (I'm sure there are plenty of us on here who enjoy your photos, even when you don't have time to comment. :-) )
a lovely black and white shot!! You are going to write some amazing stuff.....i always love reading your words under your photos. Sounds like a big job, but one that you will and others will love to read. Sounds like your going to have an amazing weekend with family!!
Georgeous shot Rick, and so glad you're still here. My reason for doing 365p is to record the memories for me and my two daughters. When I'm gone, they'll have my memories of my island, as only I see it. Writing and photographing is good!
Love your picture of the single flower in B/W. so you have a fun weekend ahead of you..your grandchildren will enjoy helping you and you'll see some of the pictures through their eyes. I kind of did just that in 2009 when we went to Chicago to visit my now late sister there. I dug up old pictures from when we were kids and new ones from my family here in Toronto. Thea used to live in Arizona and had just come for a visit to Chicago. I had not seen her in about 20 years. If you like to see a picture of the two of us click on my tribute to her. http://365project.org/bruni/365/2010-10-11
Excellent!!! It looks like you were meant to come back to your writing, keep with it, Rick. Really happy to read that. If you do a little bit a day, it gets easier.
A nice shot to symbolize the beginning of a new project. You will also be passing on the love of family tradition with your granddaughter. Sounds like many special times are ahead!
awesome. how are you feeling health wise? just checking in on you. you are so good to all of us & i want to be sure you are ok. sounds weird, but i have my reasons :-) ... one day i'll probably spill them ... lol
@pinktornado39 Well Laura, actually I feel fine. This morning I woke up with an ache in the center of my chest, and I was trying to figure out if it was muscular or more a pressure. And you know, as a nurse, I analyzed the whole thing. A little sore as I pressed on my sternum, depending on how I moved, a little sore, my blood pressure was good, pulse was good, no obvious cardiac symptoms, so I surmised it was muscular, probably from sleeping in a poor position. I took some advil and in about an hour it was almost gone. As a precaution, I pulled out my nitro and kept it in my pocket. All seems well. Thanks for asking though. I appreciate that.
I'm glad that you are feeling okay. Heart issues shouldn't be ignored. I'm proud of you for getting out your journals and writing... Writing is not easy work. I think, however, that you have the right attitude and the right goal in mind.
Oh.....and if you ever need a grammar checker...let me know! hehe
Beautifully captured and your use of b/w works so well. Good luck on your family album, I have no doubt you'll have it organized and under control in no time. Have fun with it! :)
Lovely shot of this flower Rick..
