"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down , and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." (Matthew 2:11)
This is the manger my Dad made, along with the figures that typically represent the nativity scene.
It is a truly beautiful manger, Rick, and the figures are so lovely. I've spent alot of time looking at Nativities lately, and this one is truly special.
How special to have this in your home to mark such a remarkable gift we were all given. Great treasure from your dad and thanks again for sharing with us. Merry Christmas Rick.
What a lovely Nativity Scene; and so lovingly made by your Dad. We used to have one as well; however it was made from cardboard and didn't last that many years. So. once that fell apart, we didn't get another one.
@clarissajohal Actually not carved, but he cut out all the pieces. The thing is about 36" long and 12" high. Nice size. It fills up our entire library table.
sorry I havent been able to comment on your pictures lately---I was so busy at the end of the semester before our break!!! Now with two weeks off I will be able to catch up!! :)
Wow, what an artist. How wonderful that you have that. I honor my mother by making some of her favorite recipes each Christmas. I can almost hear her telling me how to roll out the pie crust very thin...
I think it's wonderful.
I like the hand made ones
