When I saw the theme for this week I thought, oh wow, I need to go digging for a few items to photograph. It is going to be fun. This first item is an antique bank, finely crafted of a heavy alloy metal, not sure what kind, but it is heavy. I picked it up at an auction probably ten years ago. It measures approximately 6 inches long, 3.5 inches deep and stands about 3 inches high, and weighs about 4 pounds. It came with the original key, and inside are a few of my other treasures, one of which I have also included in my other album. I have no idea how old this is, but I would guess it is at least 100 years old.
You find the most amazing little "gems and old beautiful items," Rick. This is beautiful. I wonder how much money it held at one time?! Great theme this week.
I knew that you'd love this theme!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your treasures this week. This is a great first day. I've never seen a bank like this.
What a cool find and perfect for our theme this week. You have inspired me to look around my house (skipping my husband) for old things. It is a very interesting item to photograph and I wouldn't have guess it is metal.
Oh I love a good treasure hunt and looks like you found the best! Love the way you photographed this as it almost looks like it is floating. You are going to rock this theme!
Nice photo of it.
