Hahahahaha. Interesting, Andy. My question...what the hell for? 41 MP? They always sell megapixels, which really don't matter, but the lens is still the size of the head of a pin. How much will they bilk out of everyone's pocket for this marvel? (You know I'm just ranting)
Isn't there a size that is too big to work with? If the files are enormous, how will that effect storing them? There has to be a size that is just not practical for today's technology.
This makes me kind of sad, actually! I feel like it is going to mark the end of slr photography, and everyone will be trying to make smaller and much less capable cameras from now on. Naw, I am just being dramatic probably. :D I just don't really like the idea, though!
I saw a post yesterday on facebook that says the new Nokia camera has an f2.4 Carl Zeiss lens in it, Phone technology is certainly evolving but mine will never replace my camera, it only ever gets used for silly shots when my bag is not at hand.
@andycoleborn@cluvlj@dmortega@lilbudhha there's more to this than meets the eye, take a look at this review. It has quite a large sensor and is intended to be used as a high quality 5mp camera (averaging pixels reduces the impact of noise), but will also give you heavy crops at its native resolution. Still think it's at least 50% gimmick though. Thanks Andy for sharing :)
@dieter that's it! Pureview combines 6 pixels into 1, reducing noise and sharpening. Quite impresive. As Nokia says, it's not about mpx, it's about how do you use it.
