old and new

A woman found some old negatives from WWII in a flea market. She has overlaid the images over recent photos taken in the same location.

That's really nice. I'd have like to have seen the full old pictures compared to the new scenes as well, but what a sweet idea. Very clever.

@miley89 I agree. It would have been interesting to see the 'old' view of the background..but perhaps the negatives were too degraded.

Absolutely fantastic. Very haunting and ghostly images, but what a unique way to be able to see these images from the past. Thanks for sharing. :)

@,o;eu89If you follow the link to her flickr site, Ghosts of History ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/hab3045/sets/72157629743320219), she has the original images posted side by side or above/below each other as well as her combinations.

I'm a WWII reenactor, and I really appreciate these images.

How wonderful to have located the places where the originals were taken. Very clever and thought-provoking imagery.
