Older nikon cameras can use a mount adapter.

Pretty much any camera can use an adaptor, new or old. Just though it might help to know what sort of camera it was for o_O

No unfortunately they won't fit either the D60 or my D7000.

You can't do a simple adaptation of OM lenses to Nikon mount, the flange difference is too small. The adapter would need to be 0.5mm thick. You might be able to find an adapter with optics in to overcome this, but they degrade image quality noticeably. They can be adapted for use on Canon, Sony, 4/3rds and Micro 4/3rds cameras -- adapters for these can usually be found cheaply on eBay.

You can't mount IX lenses to any DSLR as they protrude into the mirror box and will be hit by the mirror swinging up. Theoretically you could use them with the mirror locked up, but as you couldn't see through the viewfinder or focus the lens (other than by guesswork), you really wouldn't want to. They were designed for a series of APS film SLRs Nikon produced. Sadly it's probably destined for the scrapheap. Maybe give it to a school so they can take it apart and show how lenses work?

I have an Olympus OM which I use and post photos from on 365. The lenses can alos be used on the digital Olympus PEN and OM-D with an adapter. I do this regularly
