Hey 365! I've never tried this whole talk to the community to attempt a competition, but here goes nothing!
Just today I got an invite from a friend to vote for him in this competition that said vote for a chance to go to space. Needless to say, I was skeptical, but I researched it and it's legit! It's a competition that AXE, the deodorant company, is putting on to send the top 10 voted people to space camp in Florida, US. Then those 10 work through 3 tests where the ones that succeed go on to actually go to Outer space on a mission sponsored by AXE!!!
Here's the pity part of my campaign lol: Getting to do something that only a handful of people through out history have ever done is one of those list toppers on my bucket list. When I was little I always loved space and science and thought it would be so cool to go to space. As I grew up, it dawned on me that it was a little far fetched. So, my new thing was getting into photography and Antarctica after my grandpa took a trip and walked on the ice. Just the thought of a place so desolate and only viewed in person by around 100,000 people in history fascinated me. All of a sudden, today the imagination of outer space was once again realized and now I need this awesome communities help to possibly send me to space! If I can get sent to space my goal is to photograph it to death and be what would appear to be the youngest photographer in space and possibly the youngest person! (That last part is not fact, but I googled it and nothing popped up for photographer and the youngest I found was 25 so don't get nippy with me about it lol)
It could just be me dreaming, but hey, why not? So here is the link and simply go to the link and click vote on the top left! Thanks in advance, and if you do vote, leave a comment so I can thank you personally :)
@swilde Thanks for helping! Ummm...I'm not sure the problem. When I click on it, it comes up with a picture of a astronaut in the middle and then to the left of the helmet is a number, vote, and my name. Is that not what comes up for you?
@huvesaker@swilde That stinks, I'm new to the competition and the competition it's self is new and does not have many questions answered yet. My own investigation brought me to notice that in the middle of the URL it says /en_US? I also noticed both of you are from another country. Does that part of the URL change when you click the link? If it does, try changing it back to US. Thank you again for the consideration and effort and sorry for the inconvenience. @jannkc Thanks! I can't wait to see how this turns out :)
@sparkle Thanks for helping me! Just wondering, you're from England right? And it took you through to my page? Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to figure out why Boo and Sue Wilde weren't able to access the page. Thanks again!
@kml1993 yes from the UK...it took a little time to think past the earth stage and I nearly gave up...but once it had clunked took me straight to you. Even the facebook login was quick and painless which is very unusual!!
@sparkle That's good to hear! I was starting to get a little worried that they had it set up so that only people in the same country could vote for each other. Thanks again!
@kml1993 You don't know how happy you have made me by being fooled!!! It was frost on my husband's car but I have never seen a pattern like that before!
