Amazing photography documenting current events...

May 19th, 2010
We're all generally very lucky to live the lives we lead. For all of our "problems" they often pale in comparison to what other people are currently having to live through.

Sadly, those conditions can also provide us with incredibly moving imagery.

I thought it'd be cool if people would post articles showcasing how photographers bring us closer to these unfathomable (for most of us) conditions.

For example, there are riots raging on in Bangkok right now and I found this photo journal of some of the goings on there. Some absolutely phenomenal shots in here.

If you have any others (I know I've seen some good ones re: the Gulf oil spill) fire them in here!

Everything going on in Bangkok now is really upsetting - it's such an incredible city and I've enjoyed visiting so much. I really hope that the situation can be resolved soon.

It is upsetting. I've never been but I plan on it. I'm hoping to start doing a lot of traveling in the next year or two. It's part of the reason I've taken up photography. Figure if I'm going to be traveling around the world and seeing all that it has to offer, I want to be able to capture it all as best I can. :)

it's absolutely horrible whats going on there.. and it makes me feel guilty about saying how beautiful those shots are. It's quite sad and it's quite incredible that any photographer could capture such moving photos in the middle of all that stress. the caption for one photo said that the subject in the shot was ducking from gunfire... that would mean the photographer was too... wow. i sincerely hope they find a solution.
