Really nice capture! I'm a newbie too... may I say perhaps work on the background more to enhance the movement of the splash (color, DoF, etc.)? Not really sure if i'm saying the right thing though. :-) Keep the great photos coming!

Firstly, I really like this photograph.
I've tried macro/water photography a couple of times, but can never get it done properly.
I think I'll try doing that this weekend, thank you for the inspiration.

Secondly,
I really like you work in general.
From the few photographs you already have posted, I can see that you have a lot of passion and dedication to your work. And you most certainly posses the creative drive for this.

Something I suggest you do is draw inspiration from other photographs.
There are so many amazing people on 365 and other places such a deviantart and flickr.
Look through photographs, find something you hope to do, an editing technique you want to try out and do it but put your own spin on it.

Also something else I suggest, is definitely take LOTS and LOTS of self-portraits.
Self-portraits are one of the hardest things to do, because 1. you have to do it all yourself, take the shot, get up, check if it's okay, readjust yourself, take it again, check it out, etc etc etc.
Personally, I find that with taking self-portraits, I can express firstly, how I am feeling, but it also inspires me because everything I can't do myself, I try with someone else. You know what I mean?

Anyways, I'm hoping to go down the same path as you are, so I wish you the best of luck and I can't wait to see more of your work.

@stefanieneves yay, thanks for all the tips... really some great advice. yeah, i used to do only self portraits for like 2 years straight, so even though it doesnt show up on here i am kind sick of it...lol. But I just got a wireless remote to my camera, so i might pick it up again... because there is nothing wrong with trying to improve on work.

yeah, im looking at all the fantastic photographers on this site and just get so excited about new ideas coming up. this really is a fantastic site to grow as an artist.

oh man, i love your photos as well. I just checked out some of your work.. and i love it. the converse with the laces spelling love... that is fantastic.
