Ok guys, I need help. My partner's sister has recently found out she's expecting, she has also recently got engaged. As a gift, I'd really like to take shots of these milestones, but I've NEVER done a shoot before. I want it to reflect their personalities and what their like as a couple. I was wondering if there are any tips/ideas anyone could give me. I'd really like to 1) make a good impression 2) I ink it'd be an awesome gift and 3) I can't wait to try it.
Thanks guys!!!!
Rekeisha ~ Such a wonderful idea and priceless gifts. I have seen some wonderful mommy to be photos on this site...some really excellent ones by Adrienne - http://365project.org/vinadity98/profile. You could get some great ideas from her work. I'll keep an eye out for more and post them on your page as I find them. You can also do a search on 365 for tags of "engagement" and "pregnancy" to see what pops up for inspiration. Have fun!!
Also, if you get a chance, read the book "Wedding Photography from the Heart" By Joe Buissink, Skip Cohen, Denis Reggie.
One of the best tips in there is during a couples shoot, ask the couple key questions that you know will get them talking about each other. For instance, where did the two of them meet? Once they start sharing their story, the looks in their eyes that you want so badly to be there will just naturally be there. Their love will come out on the photograph.
@jinximages thanks for the links. I am LOVING his processing and feel very inspired by his photographs. I guess you don't talk too much about him as this is the first time I have heard about him. haha
