Pretty. But its too dark for me, there's no highlights, making it a bit wishy-washy. Hope you dont mind me saying, but you did ask!! What effect were you after?
I agree with @blightygal the brightness should be upped. Maybe use a blur tool to make the background a little less defined or less focused. It would make the purple flower stand out a little more. It can be overdone though too, so you have to strike a balance. I do like the touches of purple around the edges.
@blightygal@shadesofgrey Thanks for the advice!! I don't mind at all!! I don't really know what I was going for (lol) I was just playing with Picnik editing. I kind of wanted the background blurry and B/W and the purple flower to stand out more. But I think because the other flowers are white the B/W wasn't so obvious
I did something similar in composition yesterday yesterday.
I would tell you to lighten up the flowers, add a touch more contrast, maybe crop a bit differently (I love a square format), and then possibly do a soft focus.
For mine, I spent the most time of editing getting the contrast and color tone for the cobble stone right. The background sometimes is just as important as what you are highlighting. I then did a crop and soft focus. This was not selective color but has the same feel.
