Well... pretty darn nice!! It's hard to critique such good work, but here's my thoughts. Great images for sure. You have captured her beauty well. The top photo looks like there is some white light on top giving her hair a slightly grayish look. I would have darkened the top a bit. The middle photo is great. Love the pose and wrought iron. The only thing I would suggest is to not cut off her fingers. the last one is my favourite. Love absolutely everything about it. The pose is perfect, the road or trail is a symbol of her path way in life, and the chair - well - wish I had that for my portraits! You have done amazing with these images, and now I'm going to check out your project. Thanks for sharing!
@mackena Thanks for compliment. Now that you pointed out those things I will go back to the originals and see what I can do. Oh, and that chair pose, I brought a wooden chair with me which I used in other shots, but while I was waiting for Maya to get off work I sat there staring at this chair... so here I am a suv full with senior, grandma, mom of senior , my daughter and two chairs. Talk about winging it. While I was walking around this little downtown... I saw the sidewalk and huge oak trees... grabbed the chair... you should have seen the window shoppers looking at me with this chair. lol thanks
@blueeyedria Thank you. @paulaag hey you got it. I did chose the 3 for that reason. I only wish you all could critique me on my others. After this critique I think I am on the right track. @marilyn Thank you.
These are all great. My favorite is the 3rd one. I agree with Marlene on the second one. It would be better not to cut off the fingers. Nice job over all though.
The only thing that I have to add is that in the 3rd one (my fave btw) the tree trunk distracts me. I think I'd crop it out and see if it's better without.
With the third one, to me the background isn't that great. Nice, but not wow. Not in focus, but not that creamy out of focus either. Just inbetween. Not a lot of sunlight on the trees and path, so just looks dull and flat to me. Maybe you could warm it up a bit. I think if you'd crouched a bit lower it might have been a better angle, but who knows. I'd crop it tighter and make her a bigger part of the picture. But that's being very picky, since you want critique. It's a great pose, great smile, I'd be proud to have taken that one.
The other two I can't really find anything to criticise.
@mikew Thanks for the critique, I will work on it. I am kind of limited on my processing programs. I don't have adobe photoshop just apeture/ Mac. @catwhiskers On the picture with fingers... I definitely went back to my original and unfortunately I didn't pay close enough attention... I took the picture with the fingers cut off. I will need to keep a better eye on the details... so worried about the main focus... the face. @cholbert thanks for pointing that out will go back to my original and check out that trunk. @roni that picture is everyone's fav with the family. @missvicki Thank you. I am feeling inspired again with everyones compliments and critiques. i will work a little harder on my photography.
