Ross, I wont email you with my concerns,,,,you are NOW part of the problem. By your own admission, you knew about this for a month.I have contacted the FBI,WHO HAS MY USERNAME/PASSWORD,,trust me when I tell you this.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STOP LOCKING MY POSTS. yOU ARE MORE CONCERNED WITH A PERSON'S REPUTATION,,THEN POTENTIAL VICTIMS. This person lived in the US,,,,and is showing a pattern. at the very least. People who have done nothing wrong,,do not DELETE, photos, comments, etc. Please remember my name,,,,as you will hear it very soon. END OF STORY.
I, for one, would like to keep this site photography based. I trust, respect and support Ross's decision to deal with this situation offline. I disagree with your statement that he's more concerned with a person's reputation than potential victims. It's not a thing to be taken lightly - life-destroying allegations posted online for huge communities to read. It should be dealt with in a responsible manner, which I believe is what Ross is doing.
I'd prefer not to log in every day and be greeted with screaming accusatory posts. I know, I can choose not to look, but you're making it kind of hard to do that. Please - lets just get back to the reason we all joined this sight - for the love of photography - and let Ross weed out the others accordingly.
*speaking up*. I appreciate your concern, bill. This is uncomfortable, and these posts are uncomfortable, but it is a serious and uncomfortable matter. I do not fault you for saying something. I have a feeling Ross can delete whomever he wants, and the comments made within the last month have been left up there for all to read (between the two parties this subject involves), with people showing concern... I just think people aren't feeling like action is being taken when the guy is still on here. So, I understand where these threads are coming from.
It's uncomfortable, but you have to trust that he is doing the best he can. This is a confidential matter, no matter how publically it has been played out, so you can't expect Ross to tell you what is going on. He is aware, he is dealing with it, end of.
dont take me wrong.. I love photography and I love my 365 project... but what about teaching kids/teenagers the pros and cons of internet.... You can find predators EVERYWHERE in internet these days
@billbetten Right so if that is case why do you not let the "authorities" do what they need to do? I don't see how your threads can of any use to any investigation that may well be already underway?
I also want to say that I get that if Ross deletes a profile, it starts a whole cascade of what is or isn't offensive and allowable. So, I think there should be a block feature. Then all of us offended could have blocked this guy out of our circle..maybe making it easier to let him know his actions are unwelcome on this otherwise really cool site.
@catalfonso at 48, old this is the first times I have been so close to a "situation" like this. This site is for photography,,,,not a dating site called "younger for older"
@jasehoad Because I don't appreciate posts getting locked,,,,,2 young girls have already emailed me regarding this person. We do not tolerate such activity lightly here in the US.
@laceyjogautreau I think a blocking tool is appropriate for athis and any site. And we should respect what Ross is doing and let him do it behind the scenes. Bringing it up everyday will only create more anger - he says he is dealing with it, and we should allow him to.
@Scrivna I never threatened you I wish you no harm or bad will!,,,,,I do promise you I have contacted the FBI. I only have faith in what I do. You do what you feel is needed and I will continue to do what I know is needed.
@billbetten many sites are not call "younger for older" .. but somehow older people go there to date younger... he best thing to deal with all this is Education
@catalfonso I totally agree,,,my 22 y/o daughter brought this to my attention yesterday while she was reading posts. I think this may get worse, before it gets better. I hope all members that read this have the same common goal,,which is to resolve this correctly.
Bill,
While I understand you're passionate about this, nothing happens overnight. Ross said he is working on it and we have to believe him. We don't need to know the details. He closed your other post (my thoughts only) because people were starting to get out of hand with comments and accusations. They have no more evidence than you did before any personal emailings. If they do/did, then this is not the place to air it, or any assumptions about said issue. Having been on here for a year, I was surprised at how specific a couple of comments were, obviously from anonymous users as was evident by their screen names. There are 3-4 people that know the details, and it wasn't one of them speaking up, at least not overtly.
As you stated we are in the US and there is a process of law. We are all innocent until proven guilty, no matter how damning the evidence may appear to be at first glance.
Lets relax and get back to photography. Keep an eye on the situation but let the authorities handle it from here. You and others have done what they can by alerting them to the potential problem. We as citizens cannot do anymore, legally, so there is no use in pushing the issue on this forum.
I beleve we are talking about a 17 yo, what is the age of consent in th USA? I've just googled it and I'm still not any the wiser.
To put my question in perspective the (UK) the age of consent is 16 and although there is moral issues as far as I can tell there would be no legal issues. Btw I'm by no way condoning the behaviour (Yes I have a teenage daughter), but I would like to know the legal stance over the water.
This is just getting ridiculous. When Ross said he was handling it behind the scenes he chose not to elaborate on what was happening in the same manner and police or any other government body would have done so, they choose not to comment on ongoing situations for several reasons. I think you need to chill out, and let Ross and the proper authorities deal with this off the internet. Yes, it is a terrible situation but it's also a situation that we should no longer have a roll in, it's out of our hands, and while I agree many of is could have spoken up earlier, what's done is done and now we have to trust it will be taken care of. Pleas fOr the sake of 95 percent of this site, let us get back to photography. After all this is 365 not witchhunt.com, just have some faith in Ross, and if you have no faith in Ross, stop plastering it all over te discussion boards, as you so boldly stated the FBI have been informed, so perhaps now you can stop and let them do the rest?
@grecican@beautifulthing I dont know that quote waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. :( im just going to go my room, blare adele, lay on my bed with my 46 cats and cry.

Rome wasn't built in a day and this CANNOT be solved in just a few hours. The authorities know & Ross is on the case so WHY keep spamming the forums?

Thanks.
I would make a cake full of sunshine and rainbows, and everyone could eat it and be happy....
I joined because I love photography?
@grecican We can't nuke this site because all of my friends live in my computer. Doh.
shhhh... it'll be okay
@grecican I actually just lol'd for real. My mum is now staring at. *acts casual* too funny!
