Interesting but dealing with emergency preparedness for work I easily know, my personal file container, external hard drive, computer, and camera in that order. I actually keep one drive in the file container. Everything else is just stuff and easily purchased.

Thats very interesting. I was suprised how much stuff people plan on taking, lol. I just hope I can take my kids, my cat, important paperwork, wallet, camera and hard drive.

i am torn on this, it is a great concept shoot, but sadly most if they make it out have only pajamas on and nothing else, based on the hundred or so families i have seen in that boat or sinking ship rather. on the fun side, that would be a tough call on a grab plan... would it be different in a zombie apocalypse? hmm........ might have to try a shot like this.

@cchambers i see your point, this is more of a 'lets sit, have a cup of tea and consider what items I own mean the most to me' not in a materialistic sense, more in a 'this reminds me of grandad' or 'ive had this since I was a baby' kind of way.
I think you should give it a go! I had fun :D

@becksesme oh i agree, all for fun, i would just hope in a panic people did not feel the need to run back in for something, sadly i have seen those consequences too often, one quite recently, which is probably why my jaded concerns :) will be a fun thing to try, my mind is already wandering about with ideas for it

Coool! I love this idea!!

I would take my dog. The rest can be replaced.
January 16th, 2012
What would I take? I'd probably take a photo, that would cover my 365 for the day ;)

My house did burn down, all I had time for was my dogs. In the 14 years since there have only been a handful of things I truly miss, but I wouldn't "go back" for any of them. This is an interesting thought exercise however & I'll be checking back to see the photos.

will definitely do this...though if it really happened I'd just make sure my daughter and my husband were safe, and my neighbours...thought-provoking though...what else I'd take if I time allowed...

I think the website is a hoot and probably far the reality. I would certainly get the cat out. I have too much of everything else to even consider. Maybe at this point my camera. I would miss my art and antiques, but nothing is necessary as the living ones we love. I'm going to give it all some thought. Fascinated by all of your opinions. @doglady Yours is the most meaningful perspective. I am sorry you experienced that loss.

The other day we had this very question, we thought the chimney was on fire and we had to get out quick, thankfully the boys in blue got here quickly and it was a false alarm, in order, dogs and cats, car keys, computer and clean knickers. Husband said is that it and it was.
