I just am curious as to how the news feed works. As I watch more people, I feel like Im not seeing all the new pictures from others. Are there only so many uploads it can handle, or does it limit to so many people? And if that's the case, is there a setting to change the limit so that I can see more of the people I follow?
I find that at certain times of the day it is slow so I'm presuming that lots of people that I follow are in a different time zone (therefore asleep!) You should receive every pic that is uploaded from people that you follow even if they have multiple albums!
I think if you want to see new stuff from people you are NOT following you have to go in search of it through the browse button. Top right of your page.
When anyone you follow posts a photo or starts a discussion it appears in your news feed, you may have to scroll down and wait for more 'news' to load, but they should be there.
@katiebrenkert I have to agree with this Katie - I definitely don't see everyone I follow...I often look at the suggestions page, or by date and I click on a photo I like, that I haven't seen only to find it's by someone I follow and it's a newly posted photo
You only get updates on the folk you follow. But if you're following a lot of people it's possible to miss new posts in the sheer volume of traffic on your news feed. They should all be there, though. As you scroll down the page you'll see the Loading bar come up and more posts will appear - it can take a while, the site has to handle a lot of info.
If you think you've missed something by a particular person you could go to your Friends list (it'll come up in the drop down if you run the cursor over 'You|" at the top of the page.) and click on 'view album' under their name to see their latest posting. A bit long winded, I know, but it's a way of checking.
@nattybabe What if Im almost positive I dont receive every picture from every person Im following. I have no idea how I could miss some of them scrolling through the feed when I then see them on the popular page! Im following some pretty amazing photographers, ahem...nudge nudge. @lalola616@sharonaddison Glad it isnt just me that thinks maybe they arent all making it. I'll just pay closer attention for a little while and see if I can determine who all it is that Im missing.
