Canon service question.

January 23rd, 2012
Might be a stupid question but here goes. I am sending my Canon 50D in for cleaning & calibration. I forgot to ask them do I leave my memory card & battery in the camera or remove. The service center is closed and I want to box this up tonight and ship in the morning. Has anyone had this done and if so how much did it cost you. Thanks in advance!

take them out. my problem was different and since it was an inexpensive p&s canon just replaced it.

i don't see why they would need your memory card.

The battery they will need to lock the mirror. They probably have a spare 50D battery to use, but you may as well leave it in the camera for them just in case.

Take them out. They won't need it. They are so nice to work with, aren't they??? (I assume you're sending this right to Canon?). One of the best customer service departments I've run across in a LONG time.

I agree - take them out. I never send anything that could get separated from my camera (and lost). They have batteries and memory cards etc.
