Recommend One Hipstamatic Pak

January 25th, 2012
So many of you use Hipstamatic and just rave about it all. If you could recommend only one additional pak or lens or film, which one would it be and why. If you do not mind would you also show me a photo.

@brumbe I'd recommend the Loftus lens - it gives you a certain measure of DoF, which is nice:

as a firm hipsta addict, I'd say the ina's 1969 film with either the john s lens or helga viking lens... tho also like the melodie lens with this film option..

My second album is almost entirely hipsta shots and I almost always add the film/lens combo info if you want to check it out..

My fave is John S lens, Ina 1969 Film. no flash. I think it comes with the original download. I also really like

Lens: Jimmy
Film: DC
Flash: Off
which is what I used for this one:

Dc is from the Foodie SnapPak and the lens comes with the original app download

Lens :- Helga Viking
Film:- Blanco.

Yep, foodie snap pak. Lotus with blanko is my current fav combo.
January 25th, 2012
@dieter Can you weigh in on this too?
January 25th, 2012
Ive been using John S/Ina's 69 for ages

Will try out some of these suggestions!

I, too, am a huge fan of John S and Ina's 1969. DreamCanvas is still my all time favorite film though which is part of the Dali pak which is no longer available. You might be able to get it in a retro pak so keep an eye open.

My consistent go to selections are:

John S and James M lenses
Ina's 1969 and DreamCanvas film
Jolly Rainbo 2X and RedEye Gel flash

I use RedEye Gel quite a bit with the John S lens to amp up sunset shots!

John S and Ina's 1969 were almost all I used for my Reno trip. Mass Ascension was shot with that combo (no flash).

Mass Ascension!

Just one is hard. I use the John S and DreamCanvas films almost exclusively but vary the lens depending on the subject: John S for green, Libatique for yellow-brown, Watts for bright and warm, Loftus for clean colours and soft edges, and Tejas for blue. @lindenswhite

If I had to choose just one I'd go with John S and Blanko but my all time favourite combo is Tejas and DreamCanvas because it handles low light so well:

The downside is that half the 'canvases' are quite ugly. I always shoot at least five or so frames with DreamCanvas to make sure I get a background I like

@lindenswhite ps thanks :)

p.p.s. my 'just one' (John S, Blanko)

@dieter and I was just thinking that the canvas looked nice, but good to know. While I have no qualms about dropping money for a lens I am frugal on my apps.
January 25th, 2012
Lately I've been using the helga lens with pistil film. Love that combo! Also love the Robo Glitter lens.
A lot of times I'll just randomize equipment!
I only have one Hipsta photo in my project, and it's most recent photo. Susie lens, Rock B&W film

@brumbe This is the first app I ever purchased, tonight! LOL
Great topic!
January 25th, 2012
@scooter i must recommend iris and pano. Also psexpress is great to allow you to crop and rotate for when you send them from phone to 365.
January 25th, 2012
@brumbe Thank you! I will make a note of that. I have never sent a photo to here from my iPhone. I think you had told me about iris before?
January 25th, 2012
Lucifer and Pistil

JohnS and Blanko

Chunky and Blanko Noir

Love all the lenses and combos but particularly Tejas and DreamCanvas at moment
January 25th, 2012
Just one more as @dieter would say. @brumbe Helga Viking and Pistil
January 25th, 2012
@peterdegraaff haha, I deserved that
January 25th, 2012
@brumbe @scooter @dieter lash out and buy all the lense/film paks. It is not going to break the bank. It is cheaper than real lenses on eBay, and there is no handling or postage. Also like Swanko Lab for a bit of editing, PhotoForge2, and Noir Film. PS express is OK but also like Photogene. Iris is fun and so is Snapseed. Oh no. I might spin out now.
January 25th, 2012
@peterdegraaff get thee the app of pano and slow shutter.
January 25th, 2012
@brumbe got slow shutter, will check out pano. For iPad or iPhone? Have you got yourself in Olympus PEN yet? Just bought a as new Olympus OM-1 for next to nix, that has been sitting in its box since the day it was bought. Wanted to get all the lenses to use on PEN.
January 25th, 2012
@peterdegraaff IPhone apps.
Holding off on pen right now because my laptop is making clunking noises so msy put money into a new one
January 25th, 2012
@brumbe at $1.99 pano is a steal. Hope you get a Mac!
January 25th, 2012
@brumbe do you have an email address I can send my first Pano to. It is of the some items in my office too sensitive to post on 365, or look me up on Facebook and will message. Think you will laugh maybe if you enjoy political satire.
January 25th, 2012
@peterdegraaff have to agree - hipstamatic and future lenses/films are SO cheap and produce such great photos...I am loving snapseed which I purchased on advice from here...need to check the others out....

Am just so gutted that Dream Canvas is no longer available - if you ever hear it's back for another limited run give us a shout !
January 25th, 2012
@peterdegraaff @pbrumbelow@gmail.com. Macs Re about 1,000 us dollars more than a comparable hp or Dell PC here.
January 25th, 2012
Swanko Lab is AWESOME! I highly recommend it! For this I used Vinny's BL04 and Grizzle Fix

January 25th, 2012
@5unflow3r love swanko lab
