I hope it's not dying:(

So a few days ago when I opened my camera(I have a Canon Powershot A550) the zoom had automatically turned on and I couldn't do anything.And since yesterday it happened again.The zoom is on,I can't get rid of it and I can't open the menu.I can do photos but that's all.I can't delete them,I can't get the zoom out,it's like the buttons are stuck.Is it broken?:(

Oh no! I hope it's not dying on you. Did you take out the battery and put it back in? I know that might not be of much help, but worth a try.

That does not sound good- I'd try to talk to a technician.

@michellina make sure you've cleared the memory card (or take it out) and try reset all in the setup menu. It will restore to factory defaults, it might help.

I just dropped my P&S and had the barrels stuck, luckily husband was able to force it back and fix it (for now!) I hate gravity.

Its not got dust or sand particles in it has it? had the same happen to a friends after a day shooting at the beach, Bit of a clean and it was fine, worth a try
