Holiday tips!

heyyyy everyone :)

With my parents, we are just choosing a destination where to go for my holidays in two weeks.
We would like something where it's nice and warm, with sea, but also an interesting place, so that we can discover a new country and culture.

Of course, I am also interested in some great photographic opportunities. So if you have any tips where it's hot right now and that is great, just share it :)

I would also like to ask, what photography equipement are you taking with you for holidays?
I can never decide if im taking my digital DSLR, the analog one or my diana. Also are you taking various lenses, or if you are taking only a single one, which one is it?

Thanks for your tips, I cant wait to here your advices :)

It's far from where you are, but I know plenty of people who've adored the Dominican Republic, and Punta Cana!

Egypt. Beautiful sunrises over the Red Sea & if you go to Sharm El Sheikh it's away from the troubles.

Lots of opportunities for calm sea pictures, sunrises, sunsets over the mountains. Take a trip out to the desert to eat with the Bedouins, climb the mountains and watch the sun setting. Then out further into the desert to see the stars.

Awesome.

Lovely at this time of year - not too hot.

I've brought 4 camera's, 1 slr, dianaf+ fisheye n2, lomo lca. Oh yeah and we bought a underwatercamera and i also have a iphone 4s that i used there.. Now just wait until i can develop it :)

I went to Egypt in 2008 and it was absolutely amazing! Went for a cruise up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan which took a week, then went to El Gouna on the Red Sea for another week, including a day trip to Cairo. The cruise included getting off and seeing the sites, seeing all the ancient monuments etc. I wouldn't advise going to Cairo itself for more than a day - it was incredibly busy and very disappointing. However it is a little bit dangerous there at the moment!

I also loved the island of Crete - it was gorgeous and also had the Ancient Greek monuments (can you tell I love ancient civilisations?) Tenerife was good, though I wouldn't advise Fuerteventura (both Canary Islands) or Madeira. I'm going to South Africa on Friday so can't comment except to say I am very excited!

Knowing where you are, I bet Egypt wouldn't be too bad, maybe Israel and Egypt, or Cyprus and Egypt as a bundle. I hated Morocco but its cheap. Beyond there gets a bit expensive I guess so i don't know. I take a point and shoot digital, didn't want the weight or the invitation-to-crime with a DSLR. Depends if you're going to sight-see then maybe a DSLR. Film is fun, but its a bit hit and miss for those once in a lifetime oportunities don't you think? Good luck!! Greece and southern Europe would be a no - still very cold.

Laos has a very special place in my heart. especially Luang Prabang, one of the smallest cities i've ever been to (population 50,000 or so) it has sooo many temples with a lot of history and the city is UNESCO heritage listed.
