Just as an FYI, it's this low because Lightroom 4 will be out soon. Which may or may not matter to folks. :)

I haven't found too much difference between LR3 and the beta LR4. Not for what I use LR for anyway.

I thought about the upgrade to 4 as well, but all i have is the 30 day trial and i have 14 days left. I didnt want to spend over 100 dollars on a software...so i will just upgrade if i absolutely have to. For now, i am still learning to use it and really enjoy the features of lightroom 3.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the education edition and the normal edition? In the UK, I can find the student edition for £39.99, but can't find the normal edition below £95.

@kynosmom @beautifulthing An upgraded version is $99, so if you get LR3 today and then upgrade to 4, it's like getting 4 for $168, instead of $299

@wormentude Technically, the education edition isn't licensed to be used for profit/business. Also, most sites require a student and ID to purchase the education version, in my experience.

I had already made up my mind that after purchasing CS5 (student/teacher) that I would wait to purchase Lightroom 3 next year (my 6 mos. window was up). But this price was way below the education edition, how could I not. :D They shipped it this afternoon, can't wait!

@kynosmom Oh lucky you! My husband told me if I would ever want Lightroom today was the time, once companies get rid of CDs and go to more digital downloads, they won't be clearing their shelves. He didn't need to twist my arm, I have wanted this for over a year!

You have to contact adobe, they open a file, you scan your receipt and they get back to you? Haven't tried it yet myself.
