I am donating a photo to the Chandler Center for the Arts for their Art Education Fundraiser. I need help choosing which photo to print for them. If you have a moment to peruse through my photos and tell me which one you like best I would greatly appreciate it. Here is one of my favs.
Hi I've looked through and i would go for either of the two above. The second one will probably sell more easily to raise funds as it would blend anywhere, the first one is more abstract.. So who will be bidding? Who's the audience? Good luck
I would agree, the 2nd one is great! I'm in AZ also (Queen Creek). Going to the Gilbert Art Walk next Friday night! Have you been? I know Chandler has one too. It's my first time setting up a booth!
I personally like the blue photo a bit more, but I think the blue may be a bit dark. Seeing only 21 was a tough call because I am sure you have more to look at. My suggestion is to give yourself a task of shooting a photot for the auction. Think along the lines of finding a building detail of the art center, a photo of art in creation, a detail of dancers or paintbrushes. As @fungirlslim said shoot for who the audience and buyer may be.
I really love the one Corey put up. It's gorgeously simply, and it would probably appeal to a really wide variety of possible buyers. Great job! What an exciting project to be a part of. :)
@bekahbell We should get together sometime. I have not been to the Gilbert Artwalk, but have been to the Chandler one. I will try to come next Friday, but I have a meeting after school and then heading to Palm Desert for a concert. Do you go to 1st Fridays in downtown Phoenix? I live on Higley and Ray and teach at Hamilton so we can't be that far apart.
@fungirlslim I think the audience will be the supporters of the center and season ticket holders. I have not participated before, this is the 1st year they have asked me. I think flowers are a safe way to go, I do have a couple of beach shots from Cali that are not posted because I took them before I started the project I may consider just for that reason. Thanks so much for the feedback.
@brumbe That is a great idea. I wonder if people would like an Arizona shot of the desert? I will have to get outside today and see what I come up with.
@heatherwilsonaz - we are so close! I used to live at Power & Ray. We moved a couple years ago to Queen Creek & Ray. How funny!! I haven't been to first friday's in years. 3 kids now with stuff going on, it's hard to go so far. I was going to go to the Chandler art walk (last week I think) but ended up not being able to make it. Have you heard of Bloom Studios?? It's on Warner & Val Vista. It's a Spa type enviroment, but the owners support local artist & have covered their facility with art for sale. Their grand opening is March 10th 12-6 and there will be an art show. I'll be setting up my booth there too, it's free for artists and they are taking no commission. I know there are still spots available if you are interested :) We've got to meet sometime! :) I would love to talk with you about being an art teacher. I wanted to do that for a long time.

I absolutely LOVE this picture. That's personally my favourite one of all of yours.
