new camera?

I really want a new camera, a nice one, to replace the old camera I have now.
I can either get one this summer or wait until christmas.
If I get one this summer i have a price range and basically the best camer i could get is a fujifilm finepix s1800.
If I wait until christmas, I have no price range and I'll be able to get a DSLR. but my project ends in april so it will almost be over.
So should i just get the fujifilm now or would it be worth it to wait until christmas?

I had been a point anf shoot guy, but just bought my first DSLR this week. I am amazed and you will too! Wait until you have the money and make the investment. You'll be glad you did. Can't wait to see your shots then! :)

I think it's worth the wait, the sooner you get a DSLR in your hands the better.
