A friend has just asked me to do her engagement photos! I am so flattered, but also, nervous.... if you have seen my pics, you know I don't often do people. But I am up for the challenge!
We will be outside, most likely in a city area....
any advice????????
I have never been asked by anyone to take pics for them. I just do this for fun.... this is a whole big step for me!

There are heaps of websites and forums with advice on couples and engagement photography. Just try googling it. I found a great one the other day, but can't find it now :(

@kimfaria I'm actually doing engagement photos for my friends this weekend. The bride-to-be rides so we'll be incorporating horses into the shoot as well (which will be a first!) My main focus is for them to have fun and relax as I like to capture what I call the "in between" moments - when they're sharing something private even though I'm there.

If you google engagement photos, there's tons of websites with tips and ideas. I've also been checking out her Pinterest wedding board to get an idea of the feel she's going for overall. I'm nervous but super excited to be doing it!

I did my first wedding last year and one of the things I definitely suggest is thinking up good couple poses in advance. Look around at what other people have done to get ideas and just be creative. I made a list of great pose ideas and I am so glad I did - it was a huge thing off my mind on the day and I could just revert to my ideas list and concentrate on getting a great shot.
If possible, choose a location you are familiar with so that you can work it to your best advantage.

I say just have fun with it, let the couple have fun with it and capture their personalities and connection in that moment. I've only done my sister's, but she was afraid her then-fiance-now-husband would hate the process. We all ended up having a blast and got some really great ones.
