Hey Travel Photographers and/or Travel Writers!

March 11th, 2012
Just wanted to let you know that Globetales website ( to which I am a regular contributor) has just started accepting unique travel photography submissions. It's not a paid gig at this point in time, but they do state that your work remains copyrighted by you, and it's a nice opportunity to boost your resume with published photos and, for regular submissions, your name is added to the site as a contributor, which would also be a nice link to add to your resume for those photographers that are looking to go pro.
Although the site says 1MB, they can actually handle up to 3MB submissions at the moment.
Travel Writers!! - if you are interested in contributing an article and earning a couple bucks at the same time, this website is a revenue sharing site - but you must have a google adsense account for this. At this point, the website doesn't have an open submission form on their site (due to heinous amounts of spam), so just contact admin with your desire to contribute an article:)

Anyhoo - just thought I'd pass that along, here's the link for Globetales

Do they accept drinky travel writing ?
March 11th, 2012
@janmaki hahaha! They must do, as I've had several articles published there;-)

@janmaki was going to mention too, travel photos don't necessarily have to be place you've traveled - loads of people on here (like yourself) have some pretty spectacular shots or their hometown that the world has yet to see:)

@pwallis Did I ever tell you about the time when we went by hydrofoil across Lake Titicaca because there was civil unrest and they told us it would be much safer for the kids. It ended up that we were the only four passengers on the hydrofoil and they made a special trip from Bolivia to Peru for us. As a special treat they let the kids drive the hydrofoil so we could take photos and served us pisco sours.

@peterdegraaff See what I'm talking about?

@pwallis and then we were at Palace of Versailles and security wouldn't let me in to the cloak room so I could retrieve my backpack. Disgustedly I said in a very loud voice, to the embarrassment of my wife "I hate the French, they are so incompetent." The guard then took me into get my backpack and let my out again. A crowd of about 15 American and other tourists then starting banging on the door demanding that they be let in to to get their bags as well. The guards ignored them!

Paula, thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out! I don't travel nearly as much as I use to (many years at 100K+ air miles). I got tired and now get others to live out of a suitcase. Now I try to combine business with pleasure trips ;-)
