Thinking of buying a new camera .. a DSLR ..(wow).. has anyone got the Canon 550d ? which seems to have taken my eye at the moment, if you have one what do you think ?,,,,,
or any suggestions welcome for a good camera any make, what lens are you using as an all round lens, ... thinking 17-85 ... 18-55 ... but what are you guys using .. hits & flops please, I welcome all your thoughts .. thanks
Steve I had the Canon XSI and just went to the Canon 7D...... You will love any upgrade, for me it was like driving a nice sedan and now I'm driving a race car. I have a friend who has 550D (T2i) And she loves it......I purchased the Tamron 28-75 2.8 and so far its a great lens. I still would like to buy a Canon zoom lens L series but need to save a bit..... I just bought this camera and I love everything about it. Mine came with an 18-55mm and also a 75-300mm. I highly recommend it. Also bought one for my 18-year-old daughter. It's fabulous! :)
If you're spending that much get the 50D or wait for the forthcoming 60D. The 50D doesn't have 550's HD camcorder functionality but it is a better camera. The 17-85 is a great all-round lens, will be my next purchase!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the canon 17-85. I have taken about 100,000 photos through mine and I love it, just the right range to be practical in my opinion, but still great wide aperatures, and not TOO heavy.
Thanks everyone for the feedback... Vikdaddy i did not realise that canon are about to bring out the 60d,
i will give it a 'google' see when its due to arrive in the shops... & check out the 50d thanks for the info again everyone
