Quick Question About Other Albums

April 8th, 2012
I'm a long way of from starting another year (not til next January 1), but apparently you can't use dates that are already in use, even in your spare albums? I want to chronicle my progress through my Keri Smith books on here as well, so my question is - Can I use 2011 and other previous years so that my 2012 and future dates are free for 365?

you can put pics with the same dates a-s long as they are in other albums, but instance, I put in 2 today with the date- 4-8-2012. One in my main album, one in my extra album. Hope this helps

Each album is a separate album so the same date can be used in each.

@kimfaria @kjarn I tried that. I selected the new album, tried uploading one test photo, and selected the date as April 2, because that's when I completed the page. It said "This date cannot be used," in big, bright red letters. :(

I double checked that it was the new album, too. I selected that album, Uploaded from the link there, and noticed that it still had "365 (Default)" selected in the drop down menu as the upload target, so I chose "100 Things by keri Smith," as the target folder. Still gave me errors. I tried a few times with several dates, the only time it worked was when I chose April 7. But then I tried uploading yesterday's photo in my 365 album for April 7, and it told me the date couldn't be used. =/

I'm pretty sure the issue is to do with posting over a year in the past. I guess the site needs some date restrictions or you could start documenting every year of your life :)

@pizzaboy But I was using 2012 dates. I figured if it were in a new album, there shouldn't be a problem, but it says there were. Since I was using 2012, I assume it's because I had already used the date in a previous album.

So I'm here asking if I'll be able to use 2011 instead since I apparently can't use 2012, even in another album, and want to keep future dates open for my actual 365. =/ I just wanted to make sure so I didn't go through all of that trouble again only to be met with red letters saying I can't use it.

I really don't understand what is going on. I'm using two albums and the only time I get the "date cannot be used" message is when I try to put two photos into the same album. Maybe you need to email Ross @scrivna and see if he can help you out.

I suspect there's something wrong with the set up of your extra albums. I can post any date in my extra album whether it's been used in my 365 album or not.

@toxicalice92 Sorry :)

I've just tried to get into your second album and can't. It must have something to do with the way you've set it up. If I were you I'd delete the second album entirely and set it up again.

@pizzaboy Oh no, please don't apologize, it's fine!! I'm just trying to figure it out is all. Thank you for helping, though!

@swilde Well, it wouldn't let me post anything because of the dates, so there's nothing in there. That could be why. =/ That's a good idea to try, though, thank you!

@swilde Thank you, I did what you suggested and just reset it! I've got the photo up that I wanted, even though the dates don't match up at all, but it won't let me repeat dates within the album now, which is how I think it's supposed to be, so thank you so much! I'm doing the book out of order and have the dates in there anyway, so it doesn't matter none too much. I appreciate the suggestion, thanks a ton!!! :)

I see you now have it sorted. Now that you have it worked out you can move the photos in that album to get the dates right - you can move them all to March then return them to April in the right order if you want to.
April 9th, 2012
@kjarn Well, there are several pages of the journal I completed on the same day, which I won't be able to put all on the same day, so they're fine just going into whatever day they happen to be on. XD I might sort it later on, though, when I have more pages, and try to put it into numerical order as opposed to chronological order. :D Thank you for letting me know that I can do that now!! ♥

@toxicalice92 You don't choose the album until after the upload, in the same area where you choose the date

@5unflow3r So I saw, but when I set up the new album and there was nothing in there, there was an upload option within the album viewing page. Something along the lines of, "You haven't uploaded any photos to this album yet! Upload some now!" or something like that. I still had to choose it from that link, though. =/
