If you could spend an entire day with someone and document it in photographs, who would you choose? Whether it's a realistic dream or not, you can't even begin to get somehwere without first considering where it might be! :)
My dream photography day-date would be with the one and only Brian Wilson of the San Francisco Giants. I would prefer a game day and at least one beer. I think he is a visually interesting person and his personality is ridiculous. He's an in-the-spotlight kind of person who you wouldn't even have to direct to get the shots you really want.
Sadly, my dream is no longer possible, but I would love to have been able to spend a day with Steve Jobs. In my book he was an absolute creative genius. Products were either "a piece of s**t" or perfect... there was no mediocre. I am an Apple addict, not only because the products just work, but also because I love their aesthetics. Steve Jobs is responsible for both of those things. I would not have wanted to work for him, but I would have loved to spend some time around him.
I don't have a shot to upload with him in it. But I think Christopher Walken would make both an interesting companion to spend the day with and a FABULOUS subject to shoot some rad black and whites of....
Id like to follow Mike Tyson for a day, not only was he one of the greatest boxers of all time but hes does have a nice personality and as he mostly shy's away (or plows through) media and paparazzi it would make for a unique project. He is a social media guerrilla marketing genius and with his one man show there would be lots of subject to include, as well he is known to hold training seminars in Vegas
i'd like to follow toad the wet sprocket (my fave band) while on tour...or just the lead singer when he's on his solo tours.....they just seem like really down to earth guys whenever i've spoken to them in the past...and i'd just love to hang out with them.....and cuz ya know, i *might* have a huge crush on the guitarist.....
WOW! That is a reeaaally tuff one, I'd love to spend the day with the Springbok rugby team but also someone like Cher, I bet a day in the life of her would be very interesting!
He's a former Houston Oiler and Tennessee Titan, a running back, and my favorite football player of all time. He's extremely attractive, so that part would make it really fun to photograph. ;)
There are several reasons I'd want to follow him around for a day taking photos. His workouts when he was a Titan were (and from what I hear still are) extremely intense. I think it would be cool to do a workout with him. Back when he was a running back, he used to hold disc weights and run back and forth in the chest deep swimming pool for resistance. Craziness. (I couldn't find that photo anywhere! It used to be on his website..not anymore). But anyway, now he owns a restaurant in Tennessee, that would be fun to take pics of, and he is also somewhat of a business mogul with his EGX Lifestyle business that teaches people how to live healthy lifestyles and teaches communities how to raise their children in a more healthy way. (and schools with their lunchrooms too I believe). As if that's not cool enough, he also is an actor and landed the title role of Julius Caesar in the Shakespeare play.
Yeah. I'd like to follow him around and take pics. And pick his brain. And get a list of workouts. And take more pics. (shirt off preferably)
My choice is not so much a single person, but an era. I'd love to have photographed the Great Depression. The photos I have seen of that time are often mesmerizing. I'd also would have loved to have been an on the set photograher in Hollywood in the 30's & 40s.
@beautifulthing bourdain hit Kc and the show runs Monday. I'm excited to see it. And, agree, he would be an interesting person to hear, see, photograph for a day. Then I would probably have to detox. Lol.
Ansel Adams - Unfortunately, I'd probably not get many photos that day because I'd be too busy watching him work.
Living person?
The President - anyone would do, because of the diversity of what they do on a daily basis, to be able to have access to the Oval Office and situation rooms for a day and just take photos would be very cool.

As for a living person - I'd pick Anthony Bourdain...nom nom nom.
