Are we able to send flowers via 365? Is there anyone that can think of a way? Maybe make a Paypal in which people can send a small donation. Once we have enough, send flowers out to Chris Wang and his wife to let them know we are thinking of them.
I made arrangements for the book for Louise by just having people submit what they wanted to donate to my PayPal account by a specific date so I could get the order in. I think this is a wonderful idea.
My email is bloglovebug{at}gmail{dot}com. I would be more than happy to take up the donations and get some really nice flowers for them and also to send some words from all of us.
My only worry is how to we know where to send them? And how could we find that out?
Ok, I sent him a message, hopefully he'll respond when he can. Please send any donations at all to bloglovebug{at}gmail{dot}com through your paypal and I will keep everyone here updated as we go through.
Thanks you guys.

Instead of flowers should we find out if there is a charity instead. I was supposed to meet up with him on May 12th in New York, so I have no problem reaching out for an address.
I just read up on their situation. Having friends that have been there, maybe something like a gift card so they don't have to stress about cooking one night or gas money or just anything that might add stress.
Friends that I've known that have gone through that, have loved to have a plant that they could plant in their yard to remember by.
@brumbe WONDERFUL. You just ask what he would prefer, we can do either. Or like @lolanae, suggested, a gift card or a plant. All of those are great. We should surely find out what the family would prefer, if you could do that Paula?
@amyhughes I will. I looked at his recent photos and he had loads of comments. I think if we wait until mid week next week when things die down we may get through a bit easier. I do like the idea of the plant since it can live on for longer than flowers. Good idea to pull together here Amy.
Great idea and I agree with @lolanae@brumbe .... I've also got friends who have gone through this... meals were a huge weight off their minds .... the little every day things because through the grief and the exhaustion of having Chloe still in NICU... just breathing is tough, without all the other things to deal with. It is so important to reach out though, to say hey... we care and to not forget that they also have an angel son. I'm happy to be counted in this!!
Lovely idea - I saw the shot on the PP and read what had happened and just curled up inside for them and the grief/worry they must be going through. I didn't know what to say. Happy to send some money for whatever you think is best - I have friends who lost children and they said just knowing people cared made so much difference to them at the worst time of their lives.
Here's what he said in reply to my email, asking if we could send flowers. (This was before Paula suggested the tree or something other..)
My wife and I have been truly touched by the outpouring of love, support and prayer from all the 365ers in this difficult yet joyous time. I'm so glad that I have my photography as an outlet to express myself in a positive way and feel great that others can share in my journey - I trust it will help in my healing process. I didn't tell my wife that I was posting for the past few days, but I showed her yesterday and she read every single comment and was so touched by the love from the 365 community. We love the fact that Chloe has friends sending prayers to her from around the world.
I think my wife will be so surprised when flowers come from the 365 community.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
Chris, Lili and Chloe
And also I got the message he replied to Paula as a cc:
Paula and Amy,
I can't really think of anything we need of specifically. My in laws have moved in with us at this time and my mother-in-law is an amazing chef that won't rest unless we are fed constantly. I was just researching ideas to honor my baby boy Julian but I haven't come up with anything yet. A lot of people like to plant a tree, but I live in a condo right now so I'm not sure if that is much of an option. Perhaps I can just pick your brains for good ideas. I hope to meet all of you in the future and say thanks in person.
Chris
It sounds to me that flowers are the best option for now, especially for his wife. Then maybe if we have money left over (and we might) then we could do something else when he decides what he'd like to do to honor?
You know I was thinking about something like savings bonds for Chloe in memory of her brother. Something that she could use for school. Flowers are nice but they are such a short term gift.
@amyhughes Lovely reply from him. For Julian... one thing I did for a friend of mine was a video montage with the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" playing ... it is Connie's version (the little girl from the UK). I used pictures of their little boys footprints and other shots I found to match with a poem I have about their footprints on our hearts, which would be a perfect poem. Would you like me to pm it to you, or post it here? I am also happy to share the video.
@amyhughes Or we pay for a quality framed print of Chris's photo from the 23rd, its such and incredible image of the first time mum met Chloe, and Chris took it. It would be something to keep forever.
Just a thought... for now something soothing that makes them smile could be lovely. Their whole world must be so shaken up (to put it mildly) I imagine something soft & fragrant with love from afar would be very welcome.
I don't know any of them, please do as you think best, Amy & all.
@lorraineb I think that's perfect. Flowers for his wife and then a print of the photo in a frame. It's a way to honor him, and also something for comfort. I think that's great- is everyone else ok with that?
My only worry is how to we know where to send them? And how could we find that out?
Thanks you guys.
