I'm at a wedding Saturday, so now I'm hoping to get a good view of the moon so I can get a shot of the bride and groom silhouetted against it, probably wishful thinking!! ; )
@swguevin Use a tripod for starters! I usually use a telescope too, I'd suggest looking through 'Moon' as a tag there are some great shots on here (365)
You can download a program called The Photographer's Ephemeris (free for laptops but pricey as an app) that lets you see the angles and timing of sun and moon rising and setting.
The awesome thing is that you can drag your little pointer around and try to line up, say a super moon rise, with where you want it to appear, say behind your state capitol building ... here's hoping for a clear night!
