Ordering Prints

July 21st, 2010
Does anybody have a suggestion as to where I should order prints?

I have gotten offers to buy some prints of my pictures, but I would also like to know because I would like to start making prints for around the house. Is there a certain website you guys use? Is ordering offline a good idea?

Any information on prints would be awesome :)

Definitely mpix. The quality is amazing, prices are great, great flexibility in product choices, and their service is incredibly helpful and FAST!

Shop around to find the places that'll give you so many free prints for signing up, then get them from there. I've used snapfish before and they normally have something like 40 free prints. They sometimes do a similar offer for returning customers too.

I've only ordered a print from Shutterfly but was very happy with the quality. If you sign up for the email offers they do a lot of specials like free shipping, free prints, etc... so even if you use another website primarily I'd get signed up with them and take advantage of the special offers.

Mpix is great, but you should also try www.iprintfromhome.com It's run by the campos group, they have good prices and fast service.
I used to print all of my color prints in their darkroom, until it was shut down and switched to digital; so I know all of their equipment.
I print everything there!

i use a graphics place to get mine printed, really cheap and great quality, better than spending lots of money on places that specifically print pictures, because they charge a bomb for it!

I love mpix, but I have also ordered from yorkphoto.com as well as wal-mart.
I print from mpix for others, and york and walmart for my scrapbooking.

Lauren, I use WHCC and ProDPI the most. And occasionally Millers. All will require you to set up an account, and have a business name... but you do not need a tax ID or resale number. Email me if you have any questions or can't find their websites.

i've also heard mpix pro is good (regular mpix too, but they have a pro site as well).

@photomom2010 @bobcase @rubberbiscuit @kving926 @jripley Wow - I just got my first order from mpix (ordered some time on Wedn. and it was delivered today on Sat.). The processing is wonderful. I love the metallic finish paper. The prices seem really reasonable. Thanks for this recommendation. I just placed another order.

@reba - glad you agree too!! I've started using mpix as well. I had somebody take my senior pictures... a well known photographer in my area and he told me he used mpix to get my prints!! must be pretty pro.

@lauren211 After seeing one of mine as a print, I ordered it as a standout - i.e. attached to 1.5" gatorfoam core ready for hanging. I can't wait to see it.

@reba - ooh very nice! they have a lot of options on there :)
